Purposeful support for connection and everyday engagement

Community Participation at HHWSS helps people get out into the community and take part in everyday activities beyond the home. This might include social outings, appointments, learning how to use local services, or building confidence in public settings. Support is paced carefully, with time to practise skills and build comfort in real situations.
No. Being “out” doesn’t automatically mean meaningful participation. We focus on activities that build confidence, skills, or connection, and that feel worthwhile to the person involved.
This could include attending appointments, joining a group, practising social skills, volunteering, learning to navigate public spaces, or reconnecting with interests. The focus is always on purpose, not volume.
That’s taken seriously. We plan around sensory needs, choose quieter options where possible, and take time to build tolerance gradually rather than pushing through discomfort.
Yes. As confidence grows or interests change, support adapts. We review what’s helping, what isn’t, and adjust plans so participation continues to feel manageable and relevant.
